Dear Julie,

Although you have had a bad couple of days, you survived!

I read this blog because my boyfriend was diagnosed bipolar 1 year ago. He has suffered with the symptoms for years, so the diagnosis was very welcomed.

Since then, he has quickly learned how to identify and handle his emotions and feelings. I, in turn, have been learning how to support him. The one thing he struggles with is self-esteem. Is this common for people with bipolar? What do you suggest he can do and I can do to help him through it?

Thank you so much for your blogs! As a loved one of someone bipolar, I get great insight into how to help support him :)

Dear Julie,

I wonder if the book proposal IS a trigger for you, as you've mentioned it frequently in your blogs, even before you went on vacation. I think once that's over, you'll feel better, too.

Looking forward to hearing about the non-generic Lamictal saga...

Sincerely,
Sandra

Sorry to hear that you've been having such a tough time lately :(

Sometimes I find that Magnesium really helps my mood when I've feeling down, especially when it's the lots of tears emotional roller coaster kind of downness... Just thought I'd mention it incase you've never tried it. Sometimes when I'm down I forget about solutions... I have bipolar disorder too and I take lithium orotate and use the magnesium to supplement it.

I really hope that you feel better soon!

Thanks for the great blog! From what I've read, I think you have lots of strength, intelligence, and courage!
