200 sign ups this weekend!

I am not sure what was in the water this weekend- but there were 200 sign ups for the blog.   I guess it was from the newsletter on Watch out for Summer Mania. We all need that reminder. If you scroll down you can read the newsletter on the blog.

( I am not sure what’s going on with the title and the extra U in the word up. I doesn’t look like that on the editing page! )

I also received many comments on the posts and promise to have them posted as soon as possible.  I read each comment carefully and though I can’t answer each one in detail- I can definitely get some advice in there and point people in the right direction. One big help is the categories column to the right- there are many posts related to the questions I receive. Also, I keep promising to start a weekly podcast [ Read More ]

Bipolarhappens.com blog reader comments!

I’ve received such amazing comments on the blogs lately- when you look at a blog, there is a little comments icon at the top- if there is a number next to it, this means there are comments. Then you can comment on the comments!

I see all bipolarhappens.com blog comments before they are posted, so your ideas and support mean a lot to me.

Bipolar Disorder Mood Swings: Weeks of Depression

Weeks of Depression

I’ve been depressed off and on for weeks. I wake up with it and often go to bed with it. I’ve had to modify my life to take care of it. I’m going out with friends more- more lunches and coffee meetings. I want to work- but it’s time to just work on the depression.

It takes time. Nothing is going on. There were no personal triggers- at least not big ones. I had a manic episode a few weeks ago and this is just the downswing that comes after. I wish I were manic! Though I know that is just as bad.

So, today is tough. I always feel better when my room and house are clean- but it’s hard for me to do it when I’m depressed. My mother came over and helped me. It’s amazing how much it helps the depression.

This is one of the strategies in Get [ Read More ]

Teenagers and bipolar disorder pt 2

Hi,

I really like answering reader questions- unfortunately, I’m limited by time, the illness itself and my darn hurt thumbs, but I will get to as many as I can. If you go down two entries, you will see a reader comment about my teenagers with bipolar disorder entry. I answered the question half way and will do the rest later tonight!

If you have read all of the entries and want some more information on my work, please visit www.juliefast.com

Talk with you later tonight!

Please pass on this blog to your health care professionals!

Health care professionals want to help, but they are often limited by time- I know they are looking for resources outside of books- so please feel free to mention this blog to anyone you feel would benefit from the information.  My work is 100% focused on helping people manage this illness- as well as helping the people who care about someone with bipolar disorder- so the more help I receive the more people I can reach!

Bipolarhappens.com blog: reader comments

hi! I’ve received so many great comments on this page- and I am making a promise to answer as many of them as I can! I will repost the comment as a blog entry and then answer the questions:

 coming up….

Omega 3 Fatty Acids and bipolar disorder treatment

Medication changes and their consequences

Relationship issues due to bipolar disorder

 Travel and bipolar disorder

Can I get into college? How do I stay in college?

and so many more…. I’ve had focus issues the past few days. It’s hard to have bipolar disorder and work on your own. Do you experience this? Darn, it’s hard to have bipolar and work anywhere with ease!

 but we can do it….
