I’d Love Your Help!

Well, as you probably know, an author lives for book reviews! If you have read my books Loving Someone with Bipolar Disorder, Take Charge of Bipolar Disorder and Get it Done When You’re Depressed, I’d love it if you would post a review of the books on amazon.com.

When you are there, please feel free to check the section that says Tags Customers Associate with This Product. This helps when people go to amazon.com to search for books on mood disorders in general.  It helps me a lot if everyone does this section whether they write a review or not.

Of course, be totally honest when you write. I don’t read the reviews – but they are so important for people deciding what books to buy.

Your support is so appreciated! Here are the links to each book:

What is the Health Cards Treatment System for Bipolar Disorder?

I really do need to change my heading on the top of this blog! People ask me this question all of the time.

The Health Cards are the treatment system I created in 2000 to help myself manage the illness. I was very sick- I basically couldn’t function in the real world in terms of friends and work. I certainly had a life, but it wasn’t a quality life. So I created the Health Cards and got my life back. You can read about them on bipolarhappens.com

The Health Cards are used by the person with the illness as well as the people who care about them.  They work! I have a blog on teenagers and bipolar disorder below. Teenagers especially respond to the Health Cards as they can be done in private and then discussed with parents.  I wish I’d had them when I was a teenager!

They are a system to accompany medications- especially [ Read More ]

Take Charge of Bipolar Disorder

Reader Comment

I often get letters from readers telling me how they use my books. Take Charge of Bipolar Disorder has a lot of workbook elements.

Hi Julie,

I’m reading and writing about your book, “Take charge of bipolar disorder”. My favorite chapter is on behavior change. It’s true I’ve gone through some very positive experiences lately, and it’s kicked in a depression, which doesn’t make any sense.  Change is a real killer. Your chapter makes me feel hopeful about dealing with the fallout from change. I have to admit, your chapter on “work and money” hit too close to home, so I haven’t been able to write a fair accounting of it. My apologies–there seems to be some good info. in there. Anyway, I like your book very much. Keep at it!

bipolarhappens.com Who is Julie Fast?

www.bipolarhappens.com  ??

If you came to this blog through a search engine- you may wonder, who the heck is Julie Fast! Well, I’m a writer who has bipolar disorder. My official diagnosis is Ultra Rapid Cycling Bipolar II. This means I have hypomania instead of the full blown mania found in Bipolar I. I was diagnosed in 1995 at age 31. I experience a lot of depression and tend to get psychotic under pressure!

I started my writing career with a website called www.bipolarhappens.com  I sell my Health Cards Treatment Plan for Bipolar Disorder from this site. The Health Cards are what I use to stay well enough to write professionally.  I then wrote Loving Someone with Bipolar Disorder, Take Charge of Bipolar Disorder and Get it Done When You’re Depressed. I taught myself to write even when I’m depressed- it’s still a struggle.

So, have a look around the blog- visit bipolarhappens.com [ Read More ]
