Bipolar Disorder Medication Management

I just can’t seem to get my Lamictal regulated. I have had trouble remembering if I have taken my meds! It’s ridiculous. I’ve been taking this drug for three years! Why on earth would I suddenly have dosage problems?
Our bodies change over time- they change with stress too.

I’m going back to my measured medication box- the one that says Monday, Tuesday, etc on it.  I have to get back on track as the withdrawal symptoms are really, really painful!  I’m twitching and jerking pretty badly.

I wonder if you have medication problems? Many people do. A friend of mine just went off his antidepressants- but he did well. Another friend is reducing her anti psychotic- but she had to stop for a while to let her body acclimate to the lower dose. It’s all about the liver!

PS: Save the liver!

You will only get this joke if you watched Saturday Night Live in the 70s. If you have not seen the skit, it’s worth watching!

I understand about remembering to take the medications. That is why I got a very large pill holder for the day and the divided morn, lunch, dinner and bed…that wayif you don’t take it it will still be in the same place…ooopppsss done that many times…that way it help to remember…

This is more humor related than any thing else…. I have a family photo from Christmas of 2005… We had just moved from our home town that I had known all my life…. My husband is more of the ‘moving’ kind…… I had a hard time dealing with the move being I had 2 weeks only from the time our house was for sale until we had to move to the Houston area of Texas. Well, we moved in November of 2005 to our new dwelling place. I was depressed and cried a lot.
It was Christmas Day and the children and my husband (all aware of my mental illness) said they had me a special gift. With a tear stained face, I opened my gift while they snapped pictures to capture the moment….. My gift…. I still smile to this day when I think of this moment…. It was the Largest Medication Box with Sunday thru Saturday on it. It was so big! But they wanted me to make sure I could find it and see it and remember to take my meds so I would get better. I love them so much for that special gift! It was one that showed they cared! <3
My body is very sensitive to medications, so I can pretty much tell when I have 'forgotten' a dose….. Thx and take care 🙂
