Hi Julie,
I’m not into a “boozy” event, so I have another one to suggest that’s held in many towns across the country: Tuba Christmas (www.tubachristmas.com) It’s tubas, euphonium/baritone horns and lots of Christmas music that always brings a smile to my face. The music’s so low you can almost see the air vibrate, and it’s silly, free and family-friendly. Alaska has 5 cities hosting Tuba Christmas this year and I know there’s lots of other towns doing it that are listed on the website. There’s one in Portland on December 8th. There’s even one in Barrow, Alaska (It’s as far North as you can get in our state, and it’s not on the road system!)
