Watch out for summer mania- my latest post on FACEBOOK.
April may be the cruelest month, but August is the mania month! What are your
first signs of mania? Write them below and maybe we can prevent a few
hospitalizations this year. Mine is always a ridiculous need to
buy drawing and writing implements to the point that I can spend $100
on Sharpies and drawing paper. I also have the thought- oh, life is
finally so good! So good! Here are a few more:
You can find the rest of this on my Julie A. Fast FACEBOOK page. I’m spreading the blogging love!
I have been with my husband 28yrs, his sister diagnosed bipolar 22yrs ago, his daughter 15yrs ago, niece 2yrs ago. I have educated myself on the subject over 22yrs & I believe my husband & his whole family have some measure of the disorder.
My concern is not so much denial occasionally coming from the ones who are diagnosed but relatives who deny on behalf of the diagnosed family members.
One day my mother inlaw & I can have a normal conversation about her daughters BD, then a month or so later she will defensively say “she’s not bipolar”. I politely remind her she was the one who took her daughter to be diagnosed and it has been a known fact in the family. I have started distancing myself from the family as my husband has. They all push each others buttons and family gatherings used to really be chaos. Any comments or advice appreciated. Thanks
I know something’s taking a turn when my hypochondriasis revs up. Then in an attempt to distract myself I begin making lists. Except when making lists, I end up going through pages of paper lest I accidentally double dot an i. These lists then turn into me cleaning closets out at 2am. That’s when I know sh*t got real.
